Biography

LISA COPPOLA is a dedicated, ambitious and gifted artist who is well on the way to becoming an internationally successful singer/songwriter. Notably, LISA co-wrote a song entitled "You Were Mine" with Mike Walsh on his band Departure's self titled album which sold over 40,000 copies in the UK and Japan combined.

LISA recently finished a new EP entitled, “Wisdom from the Pain,” named for the beautiful song co-written by Lisa, Mark Conklin and Anthony Krizan (formerly of the Spin Doctors.) The album is Contemporary Country Rock and is receiving great critical acclaim. Two of the tracks on the CD were co-written by Krizan and superstar singer songwriter John Waite. "When You Were Mine" (one of the two) was recently featured on the front page of the official European John Waite fan site!  The entire record showcases LISA'S 4 & 1/2 octave vocal range with rocking country pop songs and gorgeous ballads. “Make This Moment” features vocal cameos by fellow Party Dolls Christine Ghilino, Judy Wilson and Kim Latiano bringing the trademark Party Dolls sparkle.

LISA completed her first independently released CD in late 2001. This was LISA's first solo project entitled "A Rose By Any Other Name", on Any Other Name Records produced by Russ Bonagura. LISA co-wrote 6 of the 9 tracks on the record which led to a $2,500.00 grant from B.E.A.M. (Benefiting Emerging Artists in Music program), a program for emerging artists from all musical genres sponsored by Jim Beam Bourbon.

LISA was thrilled to be invited, as a solo guest singer, to open for the Smothers Brothers (at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ) before a capacity crowd. A fantastic time was had by all who attended the “Southern Rock Festival” at which LISA opened for the Charlie Daniels Band with her fabulous full group of musicians.

A life long "Jersey Girl," LISA continues to perform at major events throughout the New York metropolitan area and the Garden State; opening the show with the young finalists of "New Hope Idol", Hambletonian Day at Meadowlands Racetrack and the recurrent New Jersey's Official Memorial Day and Veterans Day Ceremonies at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, among them.

LISA originally set out on her own as a solo artist, but LISA's and John Zonars' band BROAD and their album BROAD: HUMAN CONFLICT enjoyed a string of successes. They landed record distribution deals in the territories of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland through Hamburg, Germany's ArtBeat Records label through BMG/ARIS. The album was also distributed in Portugal through Fabrica/Movieplay Records.

LISA and her band BROAD went on and did a wonderfully successful media/concert tour of Germany in support the record and were received with open arms by extremely enthusiastic German audiences. BROAD laid the groundwork for these successes by becoming one of New York's hottest live acts, playing regularly at such Manhattan staples as Brownies, A/k/a, Spiral, The Bitter End and also appearing at the World Cup Tournament at Giant's Stadium.

LISA has sung backing vocals with major label artists Billy Joel (with whom she appeared on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and in his "All About Soul" video), Pat Dinizio of the Smithereens, Marshall Crenshaw, John Eddie, Glen Burtnik, and Mitch Malloy. In addition to this background singing, she has also done numerous jingles. Let's not forget she has been a long time member of New Jersey sweethearts "The Party Dolls" since she was first out of high school.

Don't let this all this professional precision fool you, it is backed with true passion, soul and love of music and creating with a style that blurs the lines between love-gone-bad country and heartfelt, confrontational rock.

The future holds a brand new CD release co-written with and produced by indie superstar John Taglieri and going live with a new band, Queens of Heart Band, a tribute to HEART.

LISA, who has been performing since the tender age of 16, is truly a talent to be reckoned with. With her intensity, powerful stage presence and songwriting talent it is only a matter of time as to when she will take the music world by storm.
